The Ann Arbor High Technology Human Resource Association (AAHTHRA) was formed in the mid-1980s as a spin-off of the Ann Arbor Personnel Association (now known as Greater Ann Arbor Society of Human Resources Management).  Most of the members, who were also members of SHRM and GAASHRM, felt there was a need for a smaller, more interactive forum for HR professionals in high technology industries to exchange information, challenges and best practices unique to their companies.  Since its inception, AAHTHRA has offered HR professionals in the high tech industries a unique opportunity to connect and network in a smaller group setting.  Members have the ability to use the association as a “confidential sounding board” on tough HR issues, to advertise open positions, as well as the opportunity to engage more closely with guest speakers.  AAHTHRA is made up of a diverse group of companies ranging from biosciences to computer technology.  Company sizes range from as small as 25 to as large as 400 so each member is sure to gain perspective that is relevant and useful.  Individuals interested in learning more about the AAHTHRA should contact board president, Teresa Bross at 734.429.2100 or tbross@sensors-inc.com.
