BusBus service is provided by the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA) for city destinations, U-M for its campus locations, and Greyhound for out-of-town points.Ann Arbor Transportation Authority AATA bus service (known as “TheRide”) provides close to 5 million passenger trips annually in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. There are 27 fixed routes with service running every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the route and time of day. There are more than 1500 bus stops throughout the service area. Full cash fare is $1.00; children 5 and younger ride free. Transfers are free and must be requested when boarding. Thirty-day passes are available for $37.50 and tokens are 10 for $10.00. Reduced fares are available for seniors, people with disabilities and income-eligible riders with an AATA identification card and Kindergarten through twelfth grade students. U-M students, faculty and staff ride free when showing their valid Mcards; U-M pays for those trips. Employees of participating downtown Ann Arbor businesses are eligible to receive a go!Pass which entitles them to free rides; the Downtown Development Authority and participating employers pay for go!Pass trips. Door-to-Door service is available for individuals with a qualified disability and seniors. Buses leave approximately every 10 minutes, 6am-7pm. Exceptions are listed on bus schedules, which are available on buses and posted in bus shelters.
